EXPERIENCE
Military. David served over 9 years as an active duty US Army Officer. An outstanding military career was tragically cut short due to injuries sustained during DESERT STORM and subsequent surgical complications. He was medically retired at the rank of Captain. While on active duty, David was consistently recognized for hard work, innovation, dedication, loyalty, integrity, candor, and ability to work under great stress. Additionally he received numerous awards, including a Bronze Star Medal, for his exceptional performance of duty during combat in Iraq. Some of his other awards include a Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, numerous service medals and medals from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Tax & Business Attorney. While recovering from his injuries from DESERT STORM, David served as the Chief Legal Assistance Officer at the Army's largest installation. His office and the attorneys that worked for him provided a wide range of legal and tax services to a population of over 133,000 persons, seeing over 20,000 clients annually. Upon his retirement from the Army, he began private practice in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. His practice focus is on tax and estate planning, business transactions, real estate transactions, and financial planning. During his 14 year career he has been responsible for the preparation of several thousand legal and estate planning documents and the formation of numerous corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and trusts both domestically and internationally. He has provided services to individuals, nationwide corporations, insurance companies, investment firms and a myriad of other businesses. He has also represented individuals and corporations in disputes with the IRS.
Trial Attorney. David obtained extensive trial training in the prestigious Georgetown University Criminal Justice Clinic. He obtained additional trial experience as a military prosecutor, handling felony homicide, rape, kidnapping, child molestation, drug and assault cases. After his retirement from the Army, David has represented select clients in criminal proceedings.
